NORTHERN Ireland’s First Minister Arlene Foster has been given a tour of Markethill High School.
The First Minister had earlier joined her DUP Executive colleagues Lord Morrow MLA and Mervyn Storey MLA, to officially open a brand new 3G pitch on the Mowhan Road in the town.
The First Minister and her Assembly colleague William Irwin MLA were greeted at the school by the Principal, Mr James Maxwell and Chairman of the Board of Governors, Mr Billy Johnston.
The First Minister commented: “Markethill High School is a superb education resource for the children of Markethill and its surroundings.
“It was extremely useful to have the opportunity as First Minister to visit the school and hear of its significant achievements and exciting plans for the future.
“I certainly wish the school well as it goes forward and, as a rural dweller myself, I know the value of maintaining our rural education provision.”
