Can Crossmaglen make it 20 out of 21

DEFENDING champions Crossmaglen are set to meet the Cavan champions in the first defense of their Ulster Club Football Championship title.

That’s if the Rangers come through the Armagh series and win a seventh successive title.

Having won 19 of the last 20 Orchard Championships, they are hotly fancied to add another to their remarkable sequence. The Armagh men will have home advantage against their Breffni opponents.

The 2016 provincial series gets under way on October 16 with a meeting of the Monaghan and Down title-holders in a preliminary round tie, with the winners meeting the Donegal representatives two weeks later.

All four quarter-finals are due to be played on October 30. The Tyrone champions will host the Antrim representatives, while the Derry title-holders have home advantage against Fermanagh’s champions.

The semi-finals are to be played in November 13, with the decider fixed for November 27.
